# Repay

> Reduce or close a DeFi Planet debt position.

Repay uses the borrowed asset to reduce a partial or full debt position.

## Before you start

Hold enough of the repay asset and testnet gas. Use the current debt amount shown by RocX because accrued interest can change the total.

## Repay debt

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the debt position">Select **Repay** for the asset you borrowed.</Step>
  <Step title="Choose partial or full">Enter an amount or use the full-repay option if the interface provides it.</Step>
  <Step title="Approve when required">Confirm the token approval, then return to the Repay transaction.</Step>
  <Step title="Confirm Repay">Review the updated amount and approve the wallet transaction.</Step>
  <Step title="Verify the result">Check that debt decreased and Health Factor improved after confirmation.</Step>

  Interest can accrue while a transaction is prepared. If a small balance remains after attempting full repayment, refresh the position and use the updated amount shown by the interface. The repository does not define a separate dust-handling rule.
